On this brilliant January morning four of nature's beautiful elements came together in a happy coincidence. The sky was filled with harbingers of things to come, high thin clouds. A storm was on the way. These outriders came galloping through at the perfect time, sunrise, so they could be illuminated by the morning light. At the same moment the setting moon was nearing the horizon and the water was as smooth as glass. Nature had provided and all that was left was for me to find an elegant composition. As the moon could only be on the left-hand side of the frame a design was needed that would add weight to the right side of the frame for balance and that would also draw the eye to the subject, the moon. The zig-zag rocks move the eye from right to left and to the spot where I'd framed the reflected moon in a little circle of boulders. Everything came together.
